Coveted national trophy of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2018 lifted by Loansingh.com

Mumbai : The 15th edition of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz, India’s largest and highest-rated business quiz, successfully concluded with Prasad Shetty and Siddharth Misra from the digital lending platform Loan Singh.com winning the national finals held in Mumbai on October 14, 2018.

The occasion was graced by R K Krishna Kumar, trustee, Tata Trusts, who felicitated the national winners with the coveted Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2018 trophy and the prize money of Rs 500,000 *.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Krishna Kumar said, “The gamut of knowledge, dynamism, passion and energy that all the participants have shown today echoes the pulse of the young executives in India today. Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz has established itself as a world-class championship that tests the participants’ mettle and challenges the limits of their corporate knowledge. It was a great experience watching the quiz.

Themed upon ‘150 years of business of the Tata group’, this year’s quiz format comprised five segments - Conquering Unchartered Terrains, Walk the Talk, Tata@150, Play the Game Beyond the Prize and One World. The finale also witnessed a round hosted by Harish Bhat, brand custodian of Tata Sons. Donning the cap of the quizmaster, Mr Bhat posed some interesting questions to the participants, adding to the excitement of the grand finale.

Giri Balasubramaniam, aka ‘Pickbrain’, quizzed the participants on a host of topics, testing their ability to think analytically, creatively and swiftly. Loansingh.com, the national winning team, clinched the trophy by giving razor-sharp answers with alacrity. While the audience was stumped by the question on the reason behind the name of the beverage, a blend of the signature Starbucks espresso and the classic Italian dessert, ‘Tiramisu Cake’, launched by Starbucks in April 2018, the duo from Loansingh.com were ready with the answer that the celebration of 150 years of the Tata group was the reason behind the launch, part of ‘Celebrate 150’ by Starbucks.

Expressing their happiness, Prasad and Siddharth said, “The experience was exhilarating and exciting. The finale saw a neck-to-neck race toward the end and the results could have gone either way. But we are thankful that luck was on our side and the feeling of winning after the nail-biting last round is indescribable!”

The teams competing for the finals consisted of two teams each from four zonal finals below:

New Delhi Winner: Aditya Bagri and Rohan Khanna from Deloitte Consulting, Gurugram
Runner-up: Vivek Pathak and Debasish Mandal from Bharat Heavy Electricals , Bhopal
Kolkata Winner: Srimant Kumar Mallick and Sampad Misra from Steel Authority of India, Jamshedpur
Runner-up: Rabi Sankar Saha and Sethu Madhavan M from Capgemini, Kolkata
Coimbatore Winner: Siddharth Misra and Prasad Shetty from Loansingh.com, Goa
Runner-up: Aniruddha Dutta and Jayakanthan Ranganathan from Tata Consultancy Services, Chennai
Mumbai Winner: Rajiv Rai and Meghashyam Prabodh Shirodkar from Edelweiss, Mumbai
Runner-up: Devendra Shashank Karoshikar and Ayan Sharma from Tata Consultancy Services, Pune
